Greg Carnaghi, PE

Principal

Greg Carnaghi founded Carnaghi Structural Consulting in 2016 with a vision to provide responsive, creative, and cost-effective structural engineering solutions while building lasting client relationships. Greg is responsible for the overall direction and growth of the firm, including client management, project oversight, staff leadership, and maintaining the quality and responsiveness that define Carnaghi Structural Consulting. He remains actively involved in projects, particularly during the early stages of design, where his experience helps establish efficient structural systems, identify practical solutions, and guide projects toward successful outcomes. With over 20 years of experience, Greg has worked on award-winning projects in the Advanced Manufacturing, Workplace, Healthcare, and Higher Education markets. His experience includes the design of high-rise buildings throughout the Midwest and advanced manufacturing facilities exceeding one million square feet.

Jim Corsiglia, PE, SE, LEED AP

Principal

Jim Corsiglia brings extensive structural engineering experience across a wide range of building types and structural systems, including concrete, steel, hybrid steel-over-concrete, masonry, and timber. His experience spans Adaptive Reuse, Healthcare, Education, Mixed Use, and Workplace projects, giving him a broad perspective for developing practical and innovative structural solutions. As a Principal Engineer and Partner, Jim plays an important role in developing and maintaining client relationships, mentoring younger engineers, and providing technical leadership across projects. He remains actively involved in project design and works closely with clients, architects, contractors, and project teams to develop cost-effective, well-informed solutions from concept through construction. Jim’s project experience ranges from single-story buildings to high-rise structures and includes projects in low and moderate seismic regions. He also supports the next generation of engineers through his involvement with Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, and Lawrence Technological University.

Steve Ternullo, PE

With more than 35 years of experience, Steve brings a broad and diverse perspective to structural engineering. He previously owned a structural consulting firm before merging his practice with a large national structural and forensic engineering firm.

Steve’s experience in both structural design and forensic engineering allows him to evaluate buildings from multiple perspectives—from conceptual design through the investigation and reverse engineering of existing structures. This combination of experience provides Steve with a unique understanding of structural behavior and enhances his ability to develop creative, practical solutions to complex design challenges.

Gerd Hartung, PE, SE (Retired licenses)

With more than 50 years of experience, Gerd Hartung brings an exceptional depth of knowledge and technical expertise to structural engineering. His project experience spans the country and encompasses a wide range of building types, materials, and structural systems.

As the firm’s Subject Matter Expert, Gerd provides technical leadership in building systems, material specifications, material compatibility, and drawing quality control. His commitment to technical excellence, quality, and continuous improvement has been a defining part of his career and remains an important resource to the firm.

Throughout his career, Gerd has also made significant contributions to the structural engineering profession. He co-founded the Michigan Masonry Advisory Board with the Masonry Institute of Michigan to improve quality, communication, and collaboration among contractors, architects, and engineers. He has volunteered with NCEES in the development and grading of the national Structural Engineering examination and was a founding member of the Structural Engineers Association of Michigan (SEAMi).

Paul Chabot, PE

Paul Chabot brings extensive structural engineering experience in the planning, design, and construction administration of large commercial projects. His experience spans Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing, Corporate Workplace, and Assisted Living, and includes ground-up construction, renovations and additions, adaptive reuse, upgrades to meet current design standards, and forensic investigations.

Paul leads projects from planning through construction and works directly with clients, owners, architects, and contractors to coordinate structural design with overall project goals, schedules, and requirements. His commitment to technical excellence and open communication makes him a valued member of the project team. Within the firm, Paul also serves as a mentor to younger engineers and plays an active role in developing and refining internal processes, with a particular focus on quality control and continuous improvement.

Jonathon Gruber, PE

Jonathon Gruber brings experience across a wide range of project types, including Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing, Education, Mixed Use, and Parking Structures. His project experience ranges from approximately 50,000 square feet to facilities exceeding one million square feet.

Jonathon leads projects from design through construction, coordinating closely with clients, owners, architects, and contractors to keep projects aligned with overall goals, schedules, and design requirements. He is experienced in both ground-up construction and renovations to existing structures, with proficiency in the design of concrete, steel, and masonry building systems. His broad project background allows him to develop practical structural solutions tailored to the needs of each project.

Max Drenth, PE

Max Drenth brings a wide range of structural engineering experience across Healthcare, Science and Technology, Mission Critical, Commercial, and Storm Shelter projects throughout the United States. His background includes both new construction and renovations to existing buildings, allowing him to develop creative and practical structural solutions tailored to each project.

Max leads projects from design through construction and works directly with clients, owners, architects, and contractors to coordinate structural requirements with overall project goals, schedules, and design objectives. Within the firm, he also contributes to the development and refinement of internal processes focused on improving efficiency, consistency, and project delivery. His technical experience, project leadership, and collaborative approach help CSC consistently deliver responsive, well-coordinated solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
